In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, that recommends multidisciplinary learning, research and better community engagement and environmental conscientiousness, SYAAD is reimagining higher education’s role in furthering the SDGs.

SYAAD helps build the capacity of HEIs through workshops and programs designed for both faculty and students to cultivate a social, environmental and cultural lens to make teaching and learning more responsive to societal needs.

For HEI Management & Faculty

Supports HEI leadership with visioning their academic and social engagement aspects in their Institutional Development Plans (IDP).
As per NEP and as shared in new UGG guidelines, it is crucial that institutes become leaders to ensure that students’ development and learning takes a holistic approach.

We support the envisioning of an institutional charter to ensure that learning is designed in a more student and society centered manner. SYAAD helps design and set processes to ensure a structured approach towards both environmental sustainability as well as community engagement. We also support institutional transition to multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary learning pathways.
Builds the capacity of faculty members in experiential pedagogies and interdisciplinary curriculum planning.
Specially designed workshops help faculty members understand the benefits of interdisciplinary pedagogies and how they can inculcate them in their course work and assessments.

These focus on understanding critical graduate attributes and enable faculty with competencies to embed these in lectures using interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary teaching-learning and action research methods. Not only are these beneficial for students to build 21st century skills, but also help faculty members identify socially relevant themes and research areas for impact.
Organizes reflective weekend getaways for faculty members that help drive home the value of experiential pedagogies and foster collaborative learning.
Residential programs offer a great opportunity for reflective growth at an individual and institutional level. These offer an opportunity for inter departmental collaborations as well as institutional alignment.

For Students

Design and deliver meaningful student events and competitions that help students understand and solve for the SDGs in a local context, resulting in deep contextual learning and development of important 21st century skills.
Host engaging awareness sessions for youth to guide them on future careers in social impact and sustainability as well as for pathways for social entrepreneurship.

Individual students can also contact SYAAD’s team for one-on-one counselling sessions
Real life learning and community engagement opportunities for students through specially curated internships with social impact organizations aligned with SDG of their choice.

Individual students interested in internships (ages 16-29 years) can also reach out to us to get placed at best match social organizations.

While SYAAD can customize their programs as per the specific needs of the HEI, broadly three types of
engagement models have been designed.
